The first main SLIC event was in December of 2005. When SLIC joined up with some of the members of Greater London Middlesex West Scout Network.
We went to TGI Fridays in Piccadilly. There was in total 30 people there that night which left the TGI staff with very little time to have a break! We had a great time, there was at the end of the evening a bit more fun when Arun got out his guitar and started playing. As most of us, by this point had taken out several mortgages to pay for the drinks, we all joined in with the singing. Even the staff joined in which made it more fun.
In the January of 2006, Felix invited SLIC around to his house for a new years party. Again like TGI's there was lots of singing and drinking. We had managed this time to get an amp, a couple of microphones and a keyboard along with Arun’s guitar. We had a great time that night especially as for that many people to have gone to the pub and had the karaoke that we had would have cost a small fortune. Never the less two great evenings were had by all attended.
